PC vs PS5 for Streaming

By Real Militia

I've been streaming for a while now and I've experimented with streaming on both PC and PS5. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. On PC, I was playing the game and streaming on the same machine which was taxing on the system. Sometimes I would experience lag in the game because of this. The other problem was I only have one monitor connected to my PC which made me have to switch between the Streaming OBS and the game. Now that I'm playing on the PS5 and streaming into to my PC through a capture card I've run into another set of problems. It's harder to get the audio from the PS5 to your headset and it is not the best sound. Playing on the PS5 seems to be worry free of lag and graphics issues that I would have on the PC.

When it comes to streaming, there are a few things you need to take into account. The most important thing is your audience. Who are you streaming for? What platform are they most likely to be using? If you're aiming for a console audience, then you're going to want to stream on a console. If you're aiming for a PC audience, then you're going to want to stream on PC. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

The biggest advantage of streaming on PC is that you have more control over your setup. You can customize your rig to exactly how you want it and you're not limited by the hardware of a console. The downside is that it can be more taxing on your system, which can lead to lag and other issues. Another downside is that if you only have one monitor, you'll have to constantly switch between your game and your streaming software, which can be disruptive to your flow.

The biggest advantage of streaming on a console like the PS5 is that it's much easier to set up. You don't need any extra hardware besides a capture card and all you need to do is plug it into your TV. The downside is that you might have some audio issues since it can be hard to get high-quality audio from a console directly into your headset. Another potential downside is that you might experience some graphic/performance issues because you're playing on a console instead of a gaming PC.

There's no right or wrong answer when it comes to streaming on PC vs PS5. It all depends on your audience and what type of setup you're looking for. If you're aiming for a console audience, then streaming on a PS5 might be the way to go. If you're looking for more control over your setup or if you want to stream for a PC audience, then streaming on PC might be the better option for you. Ultimately, it's up to you!
